Traveling to Egypt during Covid-19

Learn from the mistakes (and triumphs) we made on our honeymoon from the United States to Egypt in May of 2021

OVERVIEW

The happiest day!

My wife and I went to Egypt for our honeymoon on May 16th, 2021. I am a 24-year-old white male, and have been to Canada, Mexico, Italy, and a cruise in the Western Caribbean. My wife is a 22-year-old white female, and has taken multiple Caribbean and Canadian cruises. Our trip was 2 weeks long, and we planned it ourselves as a honeymoon — meaning the trip wasn’t intended to be solely educational. We traveled to Cairo for 2 days, Alexandria for 2 days, Sharm El Sheikh for 9 days, and back to Cairo for a night before catching our flight home. It’s important to note that we got Open Water Diver certified in March before our trip so that we could scuba in Alexandria and Sharm.

To our surprise, something that we gathered while doing our initial research is that Americans don’t travel to Egypt. There are few recent resources or guides on the internet for that reason.
